Xiaomei has over 10 years of experience in teaching students of various ages. One can learn guzheng at any age and with any background. Xiaomei finds a unique approach to each student according to his/her learning style, age and musical background (if any).

 

Guzheng Lessons

In addition to learning guzheng, lessons will focus on teaching students to read music, understand the basics of music theory as well as gain a broader knowledge and appreciation of traditional Chinese music.

 

Guzheng classes are broken down into ten levels:

Beginner

Intermediate

Advanced

 

Guzheng lessons options:

 

Individual lessons: 1 hour.

Two student lessons (prices for each student): 1 hour.

Master lessons*: 60 min.

Online lessons (Skype, FaceTime, etc): 30 min－60 min (price TBD).

 

*Master lessons are individual lessons offered to students preparing for performances or competitions. 

*First (trial) lesson is FREE. Fees are negotiable.

If you are already taking guzheng lessons and you introduce another student to join the studio (and he/she continues to take lessons after their first trial lesson), you will be entitled to one FREE lesson.

-Lessons are scheduled based on the students’ and the teacher’s availability.

-We highly recommend that students purchase their own guzheng. Students can also make arrangements with the teacher to practice on one of her guzhengs at the studio if the student’s guzheng is unavailable. A fee will be charged by hour.

 A small-sized guzheng usually costs $388, while the standard-sized guzheng costs at least $398. Some of the best guzhengs may cost many thousands of dollars.

 

朱老师有着丰富的10年教学经验。教过不同年龄的学生。 学习古筝不分年龄、性别、背景，根据不同的年龄采用不同的灵活方式授课，并讲解基本的乐理知识，同时让学生了解传统音乐的文化背景。

 教学课程：初级课程、中级课程、高级课程。

集体课 （至少3人以上，1小时30分钟）

网络课程 （45分钟/1小时不定）

如学生在学期间，介绍每一位同学来上课（这位学生继续学琴的情况下），将免费获得一节课。

上课时间根据学生的课余时间安排来定。上课不需要带筝。

朱老师可推荐学生购买古筝，若没有古筝练习的情况下，欢迎学生来工作室练琴，老师可陪学生练习，练习时间按小时收费。

在您购买古筝之前，可向朱老师询问关于购买古筝的型号和配件。小古筝价格$388, 基本款古筝 $398至价格不等。
